Chuanzhu’s 川主 Worship : Text, Ceremony and Oral History Studies
This project aims to study, comprehensively and systematically, the beliefs of the contemporary Chuanzhu. It aims to collect and organize written sources and oral history of the Chuanzhu beliefs through the various collection of the literature of the Chuanzhu beliefs, the baojuan, and ritual manuals.
The study of Chuanzhu’s worship in terms of cultural integration has concerned local folk beliefs in China. This topic hopes to provide some examples and theoretical contributions to the study of folk religions through the study of the specific belief cases of the Chuanzhu beliefs, and to promote the study of Chinese folk religions as a whole.
