Zhu Mingchuan 朱明川 is a PhD student at the School of Culture, History and Language, the Australian National University. Before coming to study at ANU, Mingchuan completed his BA and MA from Fudan University, Shanghai. His research interests include the social and religious history of modern and contemporary China, mainly focus on the popular religious sects, morality books, and spirit-writing groups.
