Governance of Religion in Modern and Contemporary Sichuan: A Research from the Perspective of Political Sociology

This research will focus on three topics. First of all, I will investigate the relationship between religions in Sichuan and the political power, and so address, for instance, institutionalization and regulations in the administration of religion.

Second, I will look at the friendly and unfriendly relationships between religious leaders and political elite; this part of my work will include topics like the various policies on temple properties.

Third, I will examine the perceptions of the common believers towards the governance of religion, and how this issue is portrayed in the media.
