Wang Chien-chuan

Wang Chien-chuan received his doctorate degree from the History Department at National Chung Cheng University, is Associate Professor in the General Education Department of the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST), is an adjunct professor at the History and Culture Department of Shandong University, and was visiting professor at the Religious Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Wang has published a vast number of articles on religious groups, spirit writing communities, redemptive societies, new religious movements and the intersection between religious and philanthropic activities in the Qing and Republican periods. He has focused on Daoist, Buddhist and Confucian groups and on the intersection between these teachings. He has also worked on the production and publication of morality books.
